Hi Mervelee
Many thanks for #expressing your interest to speak at the Student Mental Health Film Festival at King’scollege this Thursday 5 March.
We had almost #30responses – many more than expected given the short notice.
I’m afraid that we have now found two Champions to speak at the event. Of course, if you are #interested in #attending the event, you can still register for #free here. See http://www.justgiving.com/Mervelee-Myers why I don’t need patronising.
If you are interested in hearing about future speaking opportunities as they come up, please get in touch with our London coordinator Lucy Bailey on l.bailey@time-to-change.org.uk

Thank you again so much for offering to speak at this event, and for all you do to change how people think and act about mental health. I am fed up with the tokenism, because recently my post was removed saying it’s not relevant. Here’s how I got involved http://www.radar-cns.org. I am in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pg102uOLUAY. Completed 2 years and continuing. There’s a pattern of behaviours from others including www.resourcesforautism.org.uk and www.morellomarketing.com and www.parkinsons.org.uk that I am been USED. Therefore, I will name the perpetrators.

Best wishes

Speaking opportunity on University Mental Health Day
Dear Mervelee
On Thursday 5 March, a Student Mental Health Film Festival will take place to mark University Mental Health Day. This event is organised by Kaleidoscope Health and Care, King’s College Students’ Union and SOAS Student’s Union.
The event will showcase a series of films created by students about their experiences of mental health, and how they would like support services to improve. The organisers are also looking for a Time to Change Champion to speak about their experiences.
Date: Thursday 5 March
Time: between 6pm and 8pm, to be arranged with the event organisers
Location: King’s College London – Guy’s Campus, Gowland Hopkins Lecture Theatre, Hodgkin Building, Newcomen Street, SE1 1UL
What it involves:
The organisers are looking for a Champion to speak for about 7 minutes (or less) about their lived experience of mental health problems as a student, and the importance of sharing lived experience and reducing stigma for students.
You could also talk about how mental health services can benefit from learning from lived experiences, and any resources you have found helpful.
Travel expenses: will be covered by the event organisers
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email us on champions@time-to-change.org.uk by 10am on Monday 2 March.
Many thanks,
Saartje

Mervelee Ratty Nembhard is #sharing because of my experiences and why I #invested in Fight4justice. Yes too many have gotten away with using me from 2004 when I #begged the South London Press to #publish my story. Only recently my post was removed claiming it’s not #relevant.
