Awards Newsletter.
We at the BLAC Awards are privileged to publish
our first Newsletter as an inspiration to anyone
who reads this. We want to encourage people
from all walks of life to contribute to creating the
legacies. As we have had the foundations laid by
the pioneers in their field, and more importantly
from our ancestors.
The BLAC Awards and that of our Partners, Sponsors,
and the local and international community,
gives priority in publishing a Newsletter so that everyone
has the chance to have their stories told.
In the words of Nelson Mandela, “The Purpose of
Freedom is to Create for Others”.
My multiple identities make it important for me to
accept my uniqueness, inherited from my ancestors
from whichever continents they were born,
and to count my blessings for being born in Jamaica
where it takes a village to raise a child. I
can forewarn the reader that this child’s “Personal
Experiences” of childhood traumas did not make
me the ideal child to be raised. I can say with pride
that my “Personal Challenges” from the time my father
was stricken with Parkinson’s disease helped
to shape my life into the person I am today. This is
the primary reason I am ready to find my purpose
as a member of the BLAC Awards team.
I am looking forward to learning new skills and
the empowerment to help others who might have
been on journeys throughout their lives. I can give
my testimony that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD), and my Mental and Physical Impairments
did not define me, however, I must use my voice
to help the voiceless who are made voiceless, vulnerable
victims by systematic discrimination.

Question? Just dawned on me am in the kitchen cooking rice… Why was the RICE they planted in JA called Coolie Rice? My dad was Negro & planted it in Mass George A who was Indian pond. So the only other alternative is to think that the Rice was introduced to the Island by the Indentured Labourers? If me friend Israel aka Bada Dujon dad of Yvonne Dujan who was the authority on Indian culture, heritage & traditions was still around I could ask him? Guess he used to trumpet it out but I wasn’t paying much attention then? Hope no 1 no badda cum tell me sey dere is no such ting as Coolie Rice still? I know everything about the starting to the ending when it comes to the CR. Strangely enough I was 1 picky eater & never ate it until much later. But I did love the Maar Water!!!

The weekend leading up to the BH I dedicated myself to sum outstanding tasks – washing the tuff dutty hair, spring cleaning the house, delivering the food TOM requested, cooking what my stomach asked for, etc, etc… I spent a mighty long time sorting out some bizz which I could otherwise used more productively and kept the mobile phone switched off… So if U don’t have my HP don’t bother call? So today I am working in the background, but will be keeping my eyes on the SM to see if there is anything of interests circulating?

When I saw Ms UNA yesterday she did mentioned that Jenny ACKBERSINGH had passed on, but I totally forgot until I spoke with breda B. last night (told U I am getting older…?) So speaking about famous names out of TOWNHEAD/Ground Rd – the ACKBERSINGH & Mass George in particular was 1 such persons. He had the sawmill & the rice paddy fields where the likes of my dad Mass Ivan used to plant rice with the help of my breda BYRON. I know breda B. is from Ms Jenny’s era and his eldest daughter is married to Ms Jenny’s husband Byran’s family down the line, so what better way to keep the history of TOWNHEAD and the many Stalwarts alive? RIP Ms J…!!!

MM: Can they not understand the implications of this statement in comparison with George Floyd saying I can’t breathe? I have a Chronic Anxiety diagnosis from 18 July 2006. Why did 3 Officers find it difficult to restrain me, hence the Racial Profiling by Inspector Patel at Walworth Police Station. Force was used to apply handcuffs to secure her MM: Why was I in handcuffs when I was supposed to be at Walworth Police Station on 1/12/2020 at 10.00 AM. Thus protecting officers and assisting the arrest and preventing disappearance. MM: Why did 3 Officers need protection from me, a person with Mental and Physical Impairment. Where was I disappearing to? This is adding to the defamation by LEYF, Judiciary Of England And Wales & Criminal Justice System. Whilst struggling with the female, MM: In which order this came in, was I struggling with the female after I was handcuffed? She took hold of the handle of my Taser MM: Where did Nikki Wright have her Taser and why was she so careless for me to get hold of it? I used pain compliance techniques on her fingers to release her grip MM: Is the Officers aware of my DISABILITIES? How about MOPAC avail themselves of the Equality Act 2010 Protected Characteristics before referring me to s.3 Criminal Law Act 1967 at https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1967/58/section/3.

In addition, we will not respond where we specifically state that we are unable to enter into correspondence (for example, when inviting responses to consultation documents). MM Arguments: I can see from the image that you had clearly made attempts to obstruct the constables and resist arrest and any force used to secure you was reasonable and necessary. MM: PC Neil Solliss is a LIAR as the BWV were not switched on, same way none of them use PPE. It is clear that you would not have gone with the officers freely and only once secured with handcuffs, MM: The Officers came to my home with the intention to MURDER me like what happened to George Floyd. Did you stop resisting, confirming to me the effectiveness of placing you in handcuffs. MM: It is clear from the Report that the Police conferred with LEYF and based their Racial Profiling from the time they were sent to SECTION me from a MALICIOUS Report of a SCAMMER and https://www.ryanclement.com. The stance they have taken the past 3 years is indicative of the Hate Crimes I experienced from them and the Independent Office of Professional Conduct (IOPC). I am satisfied the officers would not have been able to secure you safely had you not been handcuffed. MM: The Officers were acting unprofessionally on behalf of LEYF that is accused of ABUSE in Reviews online https://www.google.com. The ET refused my Additional Witness Statement when I was sent 3 by www.peachespublications.co.uk because I could not access the LEYF website. The Police must stop acting like MAFIA and targeting VULNERABLE PEOPLE on behalf of CRIMINALS like LEYF. Refer to https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1984/60/section/117.

Question? Just dawned on me am in the kitchen cooking rice… Why was the RICE they planted in JA called Coolie Rice? My dad was Negro & planted it in Mass George A who was Indian pond. So the only other alternative is to think that the Rice was introduced to the Island by the Indentured Labourers? If me friend Israel aka Bada Dujon dad of Yvonne Dujan who was the authority on Indian culture, heritage & traditions was still around I could ask him? Guess he used to trumpet it out but I wasn’t paying much attention then? Hope no 1 no badda cum tell me sey dere is no such ting as Coolie Rice still? I know everything about the starting to the ending when it comes to the CR. Strangely enough I was 1 picky eater & never ate it until much later. But I did love the Maar Water!!!

The weekend leading up to the BH I dedicated myself to sum outstanding tasks – washing the tuff dutty hair, spring cleaning the house, delivering the food TOM requested, cooking what my stomach asked for, etc, etc… I spent a mighty long time sorting out some bizz which I could otherwise used more productively and kept the mobile phone switched off… So if U don’t have my HP don’t bother call? So today I am working in the background, but will be keeping my eyes on the SM to see if there is anything of interests circulating?

When I saw Ms UNA yesterday she did mentioned that Jenny ACKBERSINGH had passed on, but I totally forgot until I spoke with breda B. last night (told U I am getting older…?) So speaking about famous names out of TOWNHEAD/Ground Rd – the ACKBERSINGH & Mass George in particular was 1 such persons. He had the sawmill & the rice paddy fields where the likes of my dad Mass Ivan used to plant rice with the help of my breda BYRON. I know breda B. is from Ms Jenny’s era and his eldest daughter is married to Ms Jenny’s husband Byran’s family down the line, so what better way to keep the history of TOWNHEAD and the many Stalwarts alive? RIP Ms J…!!!

They’ve given us a traffic light Britain.     Each party will claim that these victories are theirs and theirs alone. But local organisers know firsthand that we need all progressives to do well to unstick the glue of First Past the Post.   From Hazlemere to East Hertfordshire, from Stratford to South Gloucestershire, progressives are winning seats and councils by cooperating not competing.   This traffic light squeeze is maximising the efficiency of our anti-Tory vote.     In many of these seats, Compass local groups have been working to build trust and a united front against the Tories.   But there are no guarantees. Local elections expert Professor Michael Thrasher is predicting that Labour will be the largest party after the general election…. but will not have a majority.   That means that tactical voting and campaigning can make a huge difference in securing a vital change of government.    And that’s up to you. Up to us.     Because today we also saw too many progressive tragedies: where we divided, Tories conquered.    From the grassroots, we see this wrong being put right. This work takes many forms – quiet conversations, putting up paper candidates or publicising tactical voting advice. But in too many places, activists are doing this in secret for fear of recriminations from party officials. This is the madness of our tribal politics we must break.    Meanwhile, voters are miles ahead. They’re not asking for a change, they’re making it. We need you to be part of this movement that’s defying the system to deliver progressives into power.   What we’re doing is against the grain – of First Past the Post, of tribal party politics and of short-term competition. But it’s succeeding, because voters can see that the future is about co-operation and alliances.     And Compass members aren’t letting up. At Compass HQ we’ve spent the whole day shouting about the people that made these headlines.   Like Vikki in Stratford, who told us “Under First Past The Post it makes sense to concentrate your resources where you have the best chance of winning. This seems to have been the case here in Stratford.”   Or Graham in Canterbury, celebrating this morning:“Canterbury is not any longer a Tory area. There has been some sensible tactical voting and obviously some paper candidates are doing less campaigning in areas where they can’t win.”   Steve Ringham was proud that “in Runnymede we didn’t stand candidates where either opposition leaders were up for re-election, because we’re all working together to unseat Conservatives. This is the first time since Runnymede was formed in 1974 that it wasn’t led by the Conservatives.“   And Anthea in Berkshire, who this morning was celebrating a success months in the making – “We’ve seen some incredibly promising cross-party working in Bracknell Forest, where Labour and the Liberal Democrats have agreed to stand aside for one another. Nobody involved has publicised it at all, but we’re really pleased to see it and we hope it could set a standard for progressive parties elsewhere in the country. Despite the hostility of national party HQs towards cross-party working, progressive voters and activists in Berkshire are coming together to unseat the Tories.”       Elsewhere, our Oxfordshire group were toasting their triumph. After a lively training event run with Compass staff, they’ve been hitting the streets to spread the word for several weekends running. They celebrated the decisive return of a coalition council today, as voters backed a progressive alliance that had already delivered.   This was a theme of this year’s locals, as we saw the runaway re-election success of progressive coalitions, too many to count: Southend-On-Sea, Colchester, West Oxfordshire, Sheffield, Milton Keynes, North Hertfordshire, Tunbridge Wells, Burnley…   It’s not just about winning together, but governing better together.   This was a test run for the next general election – Compass and its activists passed the test. Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sport – CGES is in Kingston, Jamaica.  · Grange Announces Total Prize Money of $3, 375,000 for Regional INSPORTS Primary School ChampsKingston, May 4 – The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has announced prize money of One-Point-One-Two-Five Million Dollars ($1,125,000.00) for each of the three regional Primary School meets that will lead up to the inaugural staging of the National Athletics Junior Championships (the ‘Junior Champs’) for Boys and Girls at the National Stadium between May 26 and 28, 2022.Minister Grange said: “For the Eastern Championships, the Central Championships, and the Western Championships, the school placing first will get prize money of Two-Hundred and Fifty-Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00); the second placed school will receive Two-Hundred-Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) and the third placed school, One-Hundred and Fifty-Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00).“The schools placing fourth to tenth, will get prize money of Seventy-Five-Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00) each. The total prize money for the three regional meets is $3,375,000.”Lyssons Primary School of St Thomas emerged the champion school of the first regional, the three-day Eastern Championships which ended at Stadium East this afternoon.Rounding out the top five were St Richards Primary School which came in second, Harbour View Primary, third; Windward Road Primary, 4th; and St Patrick’s Primary, 5th.Next will be the Central Championships which will be at the GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport from May 9 to May11 while the Western Championships will be held at St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) between May 12 and 14.The Sport Minister said, “There will be a great atmosphere at the grand finale, Junior Champs, at the National Stadium on May 26, 27 and 28. Evaluation: I can’t get to church tomorrow to hear Alexander Manuel, sing. I need to rest, finish sort indoors and go through my mail. After that I am good to go. Joining more charity and taking up volunteering. But this time, I am going to be selective.
