Let’s take a look first at the features that you can use for free on OneDrive.

Enhance Collaboration with Annotation and Markup Tools

PDFs are used in a variety of collaboration scenarios, and to help, we are releasing new annotation and markup features for easier collaboration. Imagine you’re working on a project with your team, and you need to share feedback or highlight important sections of a PDF. Instead of sending endless emails or starting chats, you can simply use the PDF annotation tools available in OneDrive. These features allow you to use digital, hand-drawn ink, highlight text, draw shapes, and even insert sticky notes directly onto your PDF.  The annotations and notes appear on your document when you share them with other colleagues via OneDrive.

Here’s how you can easily annotate a PDF in OneDrive:

  1. Find the PDF you want to annotate in your OneDrive and tap to open it.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap on Annotation to enter editing mode. Screenshot showing the Annotation button's position just after search and before bookmark
  3. Choose an annotation tool from the bottom of the screen or select a drawing markup tool from the top.
  4. Change the pen color by tapping on the color picker at the bottom of the screen and choose from any of the preset colors. You can also adjust the thickness and transparency of the ink here.
  5. When you’re done, just tap Done at the top left of the screen, and then tap Save at the top right, to save your changes back to OneDrive.

Now when you share your annotated PDF via OneDrive, your colleagues will see your annotations too.

Navigate PDFs Effortlessly with Bookmarks

Scrolling through a lengthy PDF document and trying to locate a specific section can be a frustrating experience, right? That’s where the PDF bookmark feature is handy. Think of bookmarks in PDFs as your personal navigation tool, much like the tabs you might use in a physical book. They allow you and recipients to easily jump directly to important sections with just a click, making your reading experience smoother and more enjoyable.

To use bookmarks:

  1. At the bottom of the screen, tap Bookmark to add a bookmark to the current page you’re viewing.Screenshot showing the location of the Bookmark menu at the bottom of the page
  2. After adding a bookmark, you’ll see a confirmation dialog at the top of the screen.o view all the pages with bookmarks, tap the Thumbnail icon at the top right of the screen. This screenshot shows the location of the thumbnail icon at the to right of the page next to the share icon
  3. At the top of the screen, tap Bookmarked to see only the pages with bookmarks. From this view, you can also navigate to a specific page by tapping on it.
  4. From the All Pages view, you can select multiple pages to add new bookmarks or remove existing ones.

Jump to Specific Sections with Table of Contents

Also helping you to more easily navigate a lengthy PDF is OneDrive’s handy Table of Contents feature. When your PDF has an embedded table of contents, OneDrive will display the chapter or section titles along with their page numbers, making it a snap to jump to specific chapters or sections.

To view a PDF’s table of contents:

  1. If the PDF includes the necessary metadata for a table of contents, you’ll see an icon at the top right of the screen. Clicking on it, opens the table of contents.
  2. The table of contents with clickable chapters or sections will appear on the left side of the screen.

Optimized PDF Viewing with Reading Mode

You might have to read a PDF under varying lighting conditions.  You can maximize your comfortability and readability of your document by adjusting the Appearance of that PDF. When viewing a PDF in OneDrive, you can adjust the background to dark mode, sepia mode, or light mode, making it easy to read no matter the type of environment.

To change the appearance of a PDF:

  1. Open a PDF in OneDrive for Android and tap to expand the bottom sheet of the screen.
  2. Tap Appearance.
  3. In the Appearance window, select the colored circle for day, night, or sepia mode.

Adjusting a PDF’s Orientation with Page Rotation

With PDF page rotation, you can simply adjust the orientation of any of the pages within a PDF document. This is especially useful for fixing multi-page scanned documents that may have been saved upside down or sideways. With the Rotation feature, you can choose to rotate all pages or just specific ones within your PDF.

To rotate a single page:

  1. Open the OneDrive iOS or Android app, then open the PDF with the page you want to rotate.
  2. Scroll to the page which you want to rotate. Press anywhere there isn’t text. Once a menu pops up, tap Rotate to rotate the page 90 degrees clockwise.

To rotate multiple pages:

  2. At the top of your screen, tap the grid icon to show a thumbnail view of the PDF’s pages.

repairs reported with regards to a broken radiator in the last six months but there have been repairs raised
regarding the heating not working. A heating engineer attended on the 27th October 2022 and advised there
was nofault found and gave you a demonstration on how to use the Honeywell wireless room stat. He also
wrote down instructions on how to operate it.
I therefore deem this part of your complaint not upheld.
I reviewed our contractor, MCP’s portal to investigate the repairs reported regarding your front door. There
are no reports in the past year, of a repair being raised regarding a fault to the lock on the front door.
I therefore deem this part of the complaint not upheld.
Oninvestigating the communication between H4W and yourself, I was unable to find evidence that
demonstrated we had been clear with a decision regarding the tree removal. I can confirm that it is the
resident’s responsibility to maintain the garden. This will include the removal of a tree.
Wearesorry we were not clear in our communication and for the delay in responding back to you.
This section of the complaint is upheld.
It was reported on the 23rd February 2022 a repair to the gate and fence was required. A make safe was
carried out but inline with our policy, it is the resident’s responsibility to repair/replace a fence that divides
two gardens. After reviewing the photos held on the contractor’s portal that the fence in question divides
two gardens. We therefore are unable to fulfil your request by repairing/replacing the fence.
Onthe 22nd May 2022 it was reported to our repairs contractor, the communal door had a smashed pane of
glass. A board up was completed to the broken glass on the 22/05/2022. The glass was replaced on the 18th
July 2022 which is outside of our standard timescales.
I therefore deem this section of the complaint upheld.
I have requested an anti-social behaviour case is opened on your behalf. My colleague from the complaints
department will contact you with the case reference number.
I was unable to find any evidence of a complaint being logged relating to the above issues you have raised
with us. Therefore, I am unable to review the complaint handling.
I amsorry you had to report a staff member terminating your call when you contacted us. We take reports of
poor conduct by our inhouse staff and contractors very seriously. We appreciate that you found this
experience unpleasant, and we assure you that it was not representative of the services we aim to deliver.
This concludes Stage 1 of our internal complaints process. I am sorry that you had cause to complain to HfW.
I hope that this letter shows that your feedback has been fully considered and hope that you are satisfied
with this response.
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you should reply within 20 working days explaining why you remain
dissatisfied and what you are seeking as an outcome. This reply should be addressed to:

When we take enforcement actions, we may do so either on a specific piece of content (e.g., an individual post or Direct Message), on an account, or employ a combination of these options. In some instances, this is because the behavior violates the X Rules. Other times, it may be in response to a valid legal request from an authorized entity in a given country. Below are some of the enforcement actions that we may take.

Post-level enforcement

We take action at the post level when a specific post violates the X Rules, including posts that share or reproduce other posts by posting screenshots, quote-posting, or sharing post URLs that violate our Rules.

A few of the ways in which we might take action at the post level include:

Limiting post visibility: Where appropriate, we will restrict the reach of posts that violate our policies and create a negative experience for other users by making the post less  discoverable on X. This can include:

  • Excluding the post from search results, trends, and recommended notifications
  • Removing the post from the For you and Following timelines
  • Restricting the post’s discoverability to the author’s profile
  • Downranking the post in replies
  • Restricting Likes, replies, Reposts, Quote posts, bookmarks, share, pin to profile, or Edit post

Excluding the post from having ads adjacent to it: Starting in April 2023, posts identified as violating our Rules will begin to receive labels informing both post authors and viewers that we limited the post’s visibility.

Authors will be able to submit an appeal on the label if they think we incorrectly limited their post’s visibility.

Requiring post removal:  When we determine that a post violated the X Rules and the violation is severe enough to warrant post removal, we will require the violator to remove it before they can post again. They will need to go through the process of removing the violating post or appealing our removal request if they believe we made an error. The post will be hidden from public view with a notice during this process.

Labeling a post: If we determine a post contains misleading or disputed information per our policies that could potentially lead to harm, we may add a label to the content to provide context and additional information to users. In these cases, Community Notes may also be visible on posts to provide additional context.

Notice of public interest exception: We may determine that it is in the public interest for a post that would otherwise be in violation of our rules to remain accessible on our service. When this occurs, we will place the post behind a notice and limit its visibility. Learn more about the public interest exception.

Direct Message-level enforcement

Stopping conversations between a reported violator and the reporter’s account: In a private Direct Message conversation, when a participant reports the other account, we will stop the violator from sending messages to the account who reported them. The conversation will also be removed from the reporter’s inbox. However, if the reporter decides to continue to send Direct Messages to the violator, the conversation will resume.

Placing a Direct Message behind a notice: In a group Direct Message conversation, the violating Direct Message may be placed behind a notice to ensure no one else in the group can see it again.

Account-level enforcement

We take action to suspend an account if we determine that a user has engaged in repeated violations of our policies and/or violated specific policies that cause significant risk to X (i.e. posting illegal content, attempts to manipulate our platform or spam users, using our platform to incite violence, etc.) or pose a threat to our users (fraud, user privacy violations, violent threats, targeted harassment, etc.).

Placing an account in read-only mode: We may temporarily limit an account’s ability to post, Repost, or Like. The user can read their timelines and will only be able to send Direct Messages to their followers.

Verifying account ownership: We may require an account owner to verify ownership with a phone number or email address. Note that when an account has been locked pending completion of a challenge (such as being required to provide a phone number), it is removed from follower counts, Reposts, and Likes.

Users can appeal account suspensions if they believe we made an error. They can do this through the platform interface or by filing a report.

Actions we may take against non-violating content

Placing a post behind a notice: We may place some forms of sensitive media like adult content or graphic violence behind an interstitial advising viewers to be aware that they will see sensitive media if they click through. Learn more about how to control whether you see sensitive media.

Withholding a post based on age: We restrict views of specific forms of sensitive media such as adult content for viewers who are under 18 or viewers who do not include a birth date on their profile with interstitials

Withholding a post or account in a country: We may withhold access to certain content in a particular country if we receive a valid and properly scoped request from an authorized entity in that country. Read more about country withheld content.

How do I access an online course via Zoom or Teams?

Most training courses are now delivered online and you must sign up to a session in order to receive a link to the training. The link is created and emailed to learners in advance via the training provider (for external courses). For internal training, the link may come from the trainer or the Learning and Development Team. We recommend not using the Citrix environment for online courses. You can test your Teams access here. The “Waiting for others to join…” screen indicates that a real call would work normally.

Can I cancel a course?

Yes. You can do this by:

1.     Logging on to My Learning Source

2.     Clicking on “My Learning” and on “Record of Learning” (or searching for the course title)

3.     Clicking on the course you want to cancel

4.     Selecting “Cancel booking” next to the date you signed up to

Course cancellations must be done by the learner. Please note that if you cancel less than 7 days before the learning takes place or fail to attend, you will be charged a penalty fee, even if the course is free.

Can I book a training room in Tooley Street on the Ground Floor?

The Learning and Development team manage bookings for the training rooms on the Ground Floor of Tooley Street (GO1A, GO1B, GO1C, GO6 and G11).

In certain circumstances, you can book one of our rooms:

·       For after 17.00 – this may require a risk assessment

·       Within the next two weeks and providing no other training is planned by the L&D Team at that time

·       For internal training and providing no other training is planned by the L&D Team at that time

Before you contact us, you will need to check the room availability on Resource Scheduler and then email learning@southwark.gov.uk with the following information:

·       Name that the booking is to be made under (someone who will be the contact point)

·       Date and times

·       Reservation Title and type of meeting

·       Number of attendees and whether any of them are external

·       Set up style

Why can’t I fill an evaluation form?

Courses are set up so that you must complete the training to access the evaluation form. If you have attended a session, your completion status will be updated once the trainer has updated the attendance list. If you have completed an e-learning module, make sure that all sections have been done and there is a tick alongside its name on the course page.

How do I change my manager on my profile?

Refer to the table below to find the right solution for your type of account:

Hi Mervelee,
You have Timeline turned on for your account, which helps you go back in time and remember where you’ve been. With Timeline, your visits and routes are automatically saved to a map on each of your devices. This is a reminder that Timeline is changing. Hi Mervelee, This is our first newsletter of the new year, and it’s tempting to look back at the year that was, or make predictions about what the future holds. But what about the here and now?
As our CEO and co-founder Avery writes in a new post, we’re already living in the future, from a tech perspective. Most people have access to computational power that would’ve seemed unimaginable just a few decades (or even years) back. It can be easy to miss the march of progress, but in many areas of the tech world it is undeniable.
At Tailscale, we’ve made it our mission to help people make small networks, so you don’t have to worry about all the problems that come with everything being connected to everything else. Avery’s post on living in the future is a good reminder that even those small networks can be very powerful.
👉 We’d love to hear your thoughts on Tailscale. Filling out this feedback form helps us build a better product for you and other users.
Product Updates
10,000 customers, a new Operations SVP, and the bigger pictureToday, we’re celebrating two milestones at once: First, we’ve surpassed 10,000 business customers. Just 10 months ago, we were at 5,000 — a number that took us over four years to reach. Second, we’re welcoming Grace Lin as our new SVP of Operations. Grace isn’t just an expert in scaling companies; she’s an expert in doing it with thoughtfulness, integrity, and precision. Better Apple device management with Jamf Pro, integrated with TailscaleFor teams managing fleets of Apple devices, Jamf Pro is well-known as a leading MDM solution. These are especially useful for keeping tabs on the health and connectivity of subnet routers, and we think they’ll be an immediate upgrade for users that rely on those, such as users with site-to-site network configurations or teams using Tailscale with Kubernetes. Video: Installing Tailscale on macOSIf you’re installing Tailscale on macOS, the best way to do it is through what we call the “standalone variant”. But the standalone variant is just one of three official versions available for macOS. In this post — and the accompanying video — we’ll discuss all three options, and when you may want to wander off the beaten path. Tailscale crossword: Any port in a stormThe holiday season includes a little bonus holiday for the cruciverbalists out there: December 21 is National Crossword Puzzle Day. Hi Mervelee,
Have you had a chance to read your ‘Living with dementia’ guide? If you have, could you share it with someone else who might find it helpful? We know there are so many people out there dealing with dementia on their own. If someone you know is also affected, we’ve made it easy to share the guide below.
Maybe you or someone you know is finding it difficult to open up about certain aspects of dementia. Why not share the guide with them via WhatsApp to start the conversation?Share the guide on WhatsApp >If you don’t have WhatsApp, you can forward this email to someone who might find it useful.“Be open: encourage your family and close friends to talk about your loved one’s dementia. This means you can understand and support each other better.”Page 24Thank you very much for helping share the guide.Best wishes,

Hey there,
The scandal of unequal pay for in-store workers at Tesco is likely to become a landmark case of collective redress – where ordinary people come together to take effective legal action against large companies.  If you or someone you know has ever worked in-store for Tesco on an hourly-paid wage, then you or they could become part of this historic case. Are you eligible?
Harcus Parker in conjunction with Pay Justice is facilitating the group action – and has provided an easy process for people to sign up and see if they are eligible.  It may take some time for the case to finish, but those who join now may end up with up to 6 years’ back pay!Join the group action
