Itโs important for viewers to trust what they see on YouTube. That’s why youโll find the “Captured with a camera” disclosure in the โHow this content was madeโ section in the expanded description of some videos. It signifies that the creator used specific technology to verify their video’s origin and confirm its audio and visuals havenโt been altered. This, along with our policy on altered and synthetic content, is part of YouTubeโs efforts to increase transparency.
How it works
Verification technology: To get this additional disclosure, creators must use specific technology (certain cameras, software, or mobile apps) that attaches secure metadata to the piece of content. This metadata verifies the video’s origin and whether or not its audio and visuals have been altered.
C2PA standards: This technology is based on an open standard for content origin and authenticity developed by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA). This standard allows users ways to understand the authenticity and origin of different types of media like images, videos, and audio.
How to get โCaptured with a cameraโ disclosure
For โcaptured with a cameraโ to appear in the expanded description, creators must use tools with built-in C2PA support (version 2.1 or higher) to capture their videos. This allows the tools to add special information, metadata, to the video file, confirming its authenticity. YouTube will relay the information that the content was โCaptured with a camera,โ and apply the disclosure when it detects this metadata. The content must also not have edits to sound or visuals. This disclosure indicates that the content was captured using a camera or other recording device with no edits to sounds or visuals.
What edits to avoid
To ensure the โCaptured with a cameraโ can be applied, avoid these types of edits:
Edits that break the chain of provenance, or make it impossible to trace the video back to its original source. For example, if you capture an image with C2PA metadata and then save it to your phone’s photo album that doesnโt support C2PA v2.1 or higher, that may break the chain of provenance.
Significant alterations to the video’s core nature or content, including its sounds or visuals.
Edits that make the video incompatible with C2PA standards (version 2.1 and above).
Limitations
โCaptured with a cameraโ only appears if a creator opts to use C2PA technology during filming. If itโs missing, it doesnโt mean the content has modified audio or visuals.
The metadata that leads to a โCaptured with a cameraโ disclosure is made by a 3rd party (for example, a camera manufacturer). This means there is some risk that someone could take a photo of another screen showing synthetic content. Because the other screen shows an image that has been modified, it wouldnโt be eligible for the โCaptured with a cameraโ disclosure. This issue is called โair-gapping.โ Camera manufacturers will continue to develop detection measures to prevent โair-gapping,โ but the sophistication of those detection measures may vary in the near term.

How do I access an online course via Zoom or Teams?
Most training courses are now delivered online and you must sign up to a session in order to receive a link to the training. The link is created and emailed to learners in advance via the training provider (for external courses). For internal training, the link may come from the trainer or the Learning and Development Team. We recommend not using the Citrix environment for online courses. You can test your Teams access here. The โWaiting for others to joinโฆโ screen indicates that a real call would work normally.
Can I cancel a course?
Yes. You can do this by:
1. Logging on to My Learning Source
2. Clicking on โMy Learningโ and on โRecord of Learningโ (or searching for the course title)
3. Clicking on the course you want to cancel
4. Selecting โCancel bookingโ next to the date you signed up to
Course cancellations must be done by the learner. Please note that if you cancel less than 7 days before the learning takes place or fail to attend, you will be charged a penalty fee, even if the course is free.
Can I book a training room in Tooley Street on the Ground Floor?
The Learning and Development team manage bookings for the training rooms on the Ground Floor of Tooley Street (GO1A, GO1B, GO1C, GO6 and G11).
In certain circumstances, you can book one of our rooms:
ยท Name that the booking is to be made under (someone who will be the contact point)
ยท Date and times
ยท Reservation Title and type of meeting
ยท Number of attendees and whether any of them are external
ยท Set up style
Why canโt I fill an evaluation form?

If you have attended a session, your completion status will be updated once the trainer has updated the attendance list. If you have completed an e-learning module, make sure that all sections have been done and there is a tick alongside its name on the course page.

When you get a strike, you’re told via email. You can also choose to have notifications sent to you through your mobile and computer notifications, and in your channel settings. Weโll also tell you:
If your content violates our Community Guidelines, hereโs how it affects your channel:
Warning
We understand mistakes happen and you donโt mean to violate our policies โ thatโs why the first violation is typically only a warning. To have this warning expire after 90 days, you can take a policy training. However, if your content violates the same policy within that 90 day window, the warning will not expire and your channel will be given a strike.
Sometimes a single case of severe abuse will result inย channel terminationย without warning. If you think we made a mistake, you canย submit an appeal.
Optional policy trainings
Policy trainings are short in-product educational experiences based on the specific Community Guidelines policy youโve violated.
If you receive a Community Guidelines warning, you can access the policy training from your Studio account anywhere you typically check your policy violations. This includes the Studio dashboard and the Content tab. Youโll also see a link to open the training from the email and banner notifications. Note: Not all Community Guidelines warnings are eligible for policy trainings.
If you complete an optional policy training, your warning will expire after 90 days. The 90 day period starts from when the training is completed, not when the warning is issued. If you violate a different policy after completing the training, you will get another warning.
Repeated violations of our policiesโ or a single case of severe abuseโ may still result in the termination of your account. We may prevent repeat offenders from taking trainings in the future.
First Strike
If we find your content doesnโt follow our policies for a second time, you’ll get a strike.
This strike means you will not be allowed to do the following for 1 week:
Upload videos or live streams
Start a scheduled live stream
Schedule a video to become public
Create a Premiere
Add a trailer to an upcoming Premiere or live stream
Create custom thumbnails or Community posts
Create, edit, or add collaborators to playlists
Add or remove playlists from the watch page using the โSaveโ button
Your scheduled public content is set to โprivateโ for the penalty period duration. You have to reschedule it when the freeze period ends.
If you get a second strike within the same 90-day period as your first strike, you will not be allowed to post content for 2 weeks. If there are no further issues, after the 2-week period, we restore full privileges automatically. Each strike will not expire until 90 days from the time it was issued.
Third Strike
3 strikes in the same 90-day period results in your channel being permanently removed from YouTube. Each strike will not expire until 90 days from the time it was issued.
Note:ย Deleting your content doesn’t remove a strike. We may also issue a Community Guidelines strike on deleted content. You can learn more about when we retain deleted content in ourย Privacy policy.
If your Official Artist Channel gets a Community Guidelines strike, the channel will be suspended and become a standard channel. Learn more.
We want to help you stay on YouTube, so remember to do the following:
Learn about ourย Community Guidelinesย to make sure your content follows our policies.
If your channel got a strike, and you think we’ve made a mistake, let us know. You can appeal the decisionย here.
YouTube also reserves the right to restrict a creator’s ability to create content at its discretion. Your channel may be turned off or restricted from using any YouTube features.
If this happens, you’re prohibited from using, creating, or acquiring another channel to get around these restrictions. This prohibition applies as long as the restriction remains active on your YouTube channel. Violation of this restriction is considered circumvention under ourย Terms of Service, and may result in termination of all your existing YouTube channels, any new channels that you create or acquire, and channels in which you are repeatedly or prominently featured.
This article is about Community Guidelines strikes. To find info about copyright strikes, which are different from Community Guidelines strikes, go to our copyright strike basics.
Community Guidelines are the rules of the road for how to behave on YouTube. These policies apply to all types of content on our platform, including unlisted and private content, comments, links, Community posts, and thumbnails. This list isnโt complete. If your content violates our Community Guidelines, your channel will get a strike.
Note: We may remove content for reasons other than Community Guidelines violations. For example, a first-party privacy complaint or a court order. In these cases, your channel won’t get a strike.
