My history is wrapped up at the Townhead Baptist Church where my mother’s eulogy/remembrance that I wrote got an ovation after I heard mum’s story in January 2014. Richard is interested in how adult perceptions about children and childhood affect children’s experiences; MM Updates: Look no further than https://fight4justiceadvocacy.business.site for how Mervelee Myers invested in https://www.youtub.com/watch?v=taA14IVIm9g to share my own experiences in my “Open Book” lifestyle why my tutors at https://www.lambethcollege.ac.uk advised me to use my assignments for my first book 1997-1999.

He is also interested in looking for strategies to enhance the inclusion of young children’s voices within the discourse on early years education and care. MM Updates: Mervelee Myers carried out “A Voice of a Child” research project for June O’Sullivan in August 2010 working at Luton Street Community Nursery. Strangely enough, I was hounded out of Fitzrovia Community Nursery where I started with Westminster Children Society in September 2009. I was rescued by Joelle Lax the manager of Holcroft Nursery because I worked with her at Lambeth Walk Day Nursery William Wilberforce when I was headhunted out of Lambeth College. In light of the above can Richard Harty declare any links he has with London Early Years Foundation as I will be producing research about how adults’ perceptions about children and childhood affect children’s experiences.

His postgraduate research has focused on gender issues within the early childhood workforce. MM Updates: Mervelee Myers grew up with 7 brothers, 5 older and 2 younger, has 2 sons so can say much about this subject of gender issues within the early childhood workforce. I was the EYFS Coordinator, SENCO, Multigenerational Working Approach Facilitator at LEYF 2009… Despite starting at WCS – LEYF with a Foundation Degree in Early Years from the www.open.ac.uk I was kept at the bottom of the career ladder. I was doing the work for LEYF in the top-down bottom-up approaches for the CEO to students on placement who were later given roles ahead of me. Let me give the example of when I was the only LEYF employee shortlisted for the position of Lead Early Years Practitioner in 2011 and did not get the job. When I meet Dr. Chris Pascal OBE www.crec.co.uk and Professor Tony Bertram – EECERA https://www.eecera.org .. at Middlesex University on 19/9/2015 I told them of my intention to study to get my SEND Teacher qualification. I was endorsed on https://www.linkedin.com on 22/9/2015. That is why Richard Harty must explain why he discriminated against me from the time he called me on 27/9/2021. There is a recording when I realised the implications of the call on my fragile mental and physical health. The threats were not captured in the recording.

OVERVIEW

Richard is an experienced early years practitioner who has teaching and managerial experience within a variety of early years settings in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. He has also worked as a reviewer for the National Childcare Accreditation Council in Australia. Richard’s first degree was in Psychology (Otago, NZ). He then qualified with a Bachelors of Education and Diploma of Teaching (Otago, NZ). He also holds a MEd in Early Childhood Research (QUT, Australia).

MM Updates: Here is why social media must be taken into account for an overview of Mervelee Myers qualification, training, and experiences during my 62 years and more so the 29 years spent in the UK. Mervelee Myers is an experienced early years practitioner whose love of working with young children developed at the Townhead Basic School where the foundation of my passion was laid. I completed one National Youth Service as a Teaching Assistant at the Townhead Primary School where my mentors inspired me to be the best at whatever I set my mind to achieve. When I get over 1 hurdle another 1 comes to take its place. Been battling Satan’s Hench-Wo/Men since July 2014 after returning from JA to bury my MAMA. My health, dignity, self-confidence/esteem, etc, etc shot to smitten… But U know what, I never ever will call it quits. Once there is life there is hope & I have my Fore parents/Ancestors, & more importantly my Papa, Mama, Ashter & Byron to give me the inspirations I need when I am feeling down! I’ve been to hell & back…

Now I’ve been hit hard with my health conditions & hidden disability. My sugar has gone up & the GP is warning me not to let STRESS get the better of me. WE can work it out with the help of the NHS & I vow to do just that. I intend to delay Medications 4 as long as I possibly can! I am not the only 1 affected as Tom is feeling the strains even more than me. But I know that with God all things are possible. Therefore I believe I’ll be seeing that Rainbow & a Light at the end of the Tunnel soon.

But I am hoping they are ready for what is ahead of US when the time comes for my Redemption Song! 1. Old Pirates Yes They Rob I! 2. If God is for Me, Who Is Against Me? 3. 2 Roads b4 U Pick Ur Choice! So they come to me, is so I write them down, because they will eventually be my Salvation I believe.

SUGAR U ain’t going to get the better of me I Swear! Still Sweet, but I want to get rid of the Sugar that will blight my life if I can help it. I have my Sons & Grandchildren to live for… My mission on this earth is not yet done either, so God has to grant me the grace & gift to carry on. God knows me best, so won’t complain if I pose a few Questions here & there.

When I get over 1 hurdle another 1 comes to take it’s place. Been battling Satan’s Hench-Wo/Men since July 2014 after returning from JA to bury my MAMA. Mt health, dignity, self-confidence/esteem, etc, etc shot to smitten… But U know what, I never ever will call it quits. Once there is life there is hope & I have my Fore parents/Ancestors, & more importantly my Papa, Mama, Ashter & Byron to give me the inspirations I need when I am feeling down! I’ve been to hell & back…

Now I’ve been hit hard with my health conditions & hidden disability. My sugar has gone up & the GP is warning me not to let STRESS get the better of me. WE can work it out with the help of the NHS & I vow to do just that. I intend to delay Medications 4 as long as I possibly can! I am not the only 1 affected as Tom is feeling the strains even more than me. But I know that with God all things are possible. Therefore I believe I’ll be seeing that Rainbow & a Light at the end of the Tunnel soon.

But I am hoping they are ready for what is ahead of US when the time comes for my Redemption Song! 1. Old Pirates Yes They Rob I! 2. If God is for Me, Who Is Against Me? 3. 2 Roads b4 U Pick Ur Choice! So they come to me, is so I write them down, because they will eventually be my Salvation I believe.

SUGAR U aint going to get the better of me I Swear! Still Sweet, but I want to get rid of the Sugar that will blight my life if I can help it. I have my Sons & Grandchildren to live for… My mission on this earth is not yet done either, so God has to grant me the grace & gift to carry on. Because the Judiciary Of England And Wales, the Criminal Justice System, and the Crown Prosecution Service colluded to make me a victim of London Early Years Foundation and the University of East London Rochard Harty who created “Men in Childcare”.

We fund, design, and deliver collaborative patient-driven research, generating knowledge and interventions to enhance the lives of patients with some of the most complex mental health needs in the UK.

MM Updates: Refer to my CV for the qualification, training, and experiences I bring to my toles as a Mental Health & SEND Advocate after the second miscarriage of justice in the 29 years I have been living in the UK. Social Media must be held accountable for the roles they played in aiding and abetting the discrimination leading to my breakdown and feeling suicidal. I will apply this Abstract to show how I was made a CRIMINAL after the death of my mother.

Within democratic societies, counter-terrorism is almost exclusively about crime prevention. MM Updates: How does this relate to my experiences of the past 7 years? Let me share my experiences of crime in reverse to give the true picture of why I have been entrapped with Emotional Regulation Treatment to cover up the fact that there is a pedophile ring being operated under the umbrella of “Men in Childcare” that have abusers using the Early Years Sector as a hiding place for those trained at LEYF and possibly the University of East London, Richard Harty and cohorts.

A broad and holistic approach to preventing terrorism can be based on nine preventative mechanisms:

1. Building normative barriers against terrorism. MM Updates: To me, it is terrorism when I can go to my bank to conduct business and the transaction was not completed when delaying tactics were used by 3 tellers to send me home to come back the next day. In exposing my vulnerability to these 3 women I was marked as a victim to be scammed of my money. The fact is if they had put through the transaction, they would have gotten away. Because I was not given a receipt and realised the fact much later when I was talking to my daughter-in-law and told her my intuition told me something was not right. So I asked them to write down what I should return with. See the pattern of behaviour to understand why I begged www.icsouthlondon.co.uk to publish my story in 2004. Despite me contacting the various newspaper including the South London Press since the time I was targeted after the death of my mother, I do not get any support. But many factors will be used to prove am a victim of my disabilities. Some of these are in the Public Domain when I contributed to the www.express.co.uk Mental Health Crusade. Other evidence can be found at http://www.myvision.org.uk and https://www.google.com when I invested in www.adwords.google.com and published on social media platforms where I was an influencer. Until I was targeted after mum’s death and I had the second nervous breakdown in a toxic work environment at www.leyf.org.uk in 2015. The first occurred at https://careers.kch.nhs.uk after the death of my brother in 2008.

2. Reducing radicalisation and recruitment. MM Updates: I arrived at UEL on 5/10/2021 dressed up to celebrate Black History Month when I got the shock of my life. My pass would not allow me in so I remember hearing being told not to swipe in too early and I was early. I was going to sit on the bench when I noticed the plaque dedicated to Black Lives Matter in honour of George Floyd and decided to capture evidence for my project as a blogger. Whilst I was bent looking for my camcorder I was approached by a Security Officer asking if I am Ms. Myers. He said he was instructed to advise me I was not allowed on campus. If I have phone numbers I should call the people. I asked him if he could go and get someone to come and speak to me. At this time I was not the least bit concerned and started doing my recording at the plaque to celebrate BHM. The Security Officer came back with 2 women and tells me am not supposed to be recording on campus. To say I was shocked is an understatement because of the processes I had gone through to become a UEL student. When I asked question of the first lady whom I believe is the tutor who advised me I was too advanced for the module I had chosen. She identified herself as Tanya Cotier. Although she could not give me any information, she was rattling on about the video I uploaded and the fact she did not listen to it. The other woman whose name I was not told mentioned that Richard Harty sent me an email and I should not be on campus.

The University of East London Pioneering Futures Since 1898 Disability & Dyslexia Team Teaching & Learning Support Requirements… Under the Equality Act 2010, the university has an obligation to make reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of students with disabilities including those with Specific Learning Differences (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia). The contents of Student Name: Mervelee Myers Student ID: 2193537 must be quoted when dealing with the way I was treated by the 3 above-mentioned members of UEL. It was a black Security Officer who came out to defuse the situation. When I was sent to Occupational Health in breach of the contract I signed on 7/10/2009 I was advised by Dr. Laura Crawford www.healthmanltd.com to seek counseling to find out why I react the way I do to certain situations.

3. Deterrence. MM Updates: Refer to https://fight4justiceadvocacy.business.site for the discrimination that impacted my life with the miscarriages of justice.

4. Disruption. MM Updates: My life has being disrupted from the time I arrived in the UK to date and I have to pick myself up and start from the bottom. Domestic abuse almost cost me my life when I had to run to the Brixton Police Station for rescue in 2000. So to end up there in handcuffs on 1/12/2020 was a trigger for my PTSD when I was targeted by www.met.police.uk on behalf of LEYF to cover up the abuse in the reviews online when the http://judicialconduct.judiciary.gov.uk join in the discrimination against me. My stories are across the World Wide Web and Internet therefore the world must be warned about the threats posed to children, young people, and vulnerable adults target by LEYF. Let me start the timeline of how June O’Sullivan disrupted my life from August 2010 “A Voice of a Child” research to her visit to BIB on 28/1/2015 to trap me to breach the social media Policy & Procedure. The fact that June O’Sullivan lied triggered my PTSD as I was hearing about her deceits and could not believe it. June O’Sullivan was the CEO who knows the names of her employees. The disruption to my life went to the extent when I was targeted at the Nursery World Show 2018 by a young white girl wearing a LEYF shirt. When I walked away from the altercations, the next day June O’Sullivan put plan B in action. I was to be detained at the Seminar I paid my money to find out which of my intellectual property she was plagiarising. Doing my research gives me information about how JO “Mask of Sanity” slipped to reveal a psychopath. Why would anyone want to be remembered as a disruptive influence?

5. Incapacitation. MM Updates: Refer to my record from the time I attended https://www.lambethcollege.ac.uk from 1997-1999. My life is an “Open Book” and the fact that I was advised by my tutors at LC to go to university and use my assignments as my first BOOK is a testament to my passion as a writer. I graduated with a Student of the Year Certificate and was headhunted into my first job in the Early Years Sector. I had my eyes on advancing my career and did an interview with Westminster Children Society – LEYF, but was not successful. That is why I am upset and ANGRY about the way I have been deprived of my strength and ability via 2 miscarriages of justice at https://www.jobs.nhs.uk and refer to www.ico.org.uk as I was a participant in Employment Tribunal research www.acas.org.uk/researchpapers by Dr. Marie Hudson “The Experience of Multiple Discrimination”. I worked at William Wilberforce at Lambeth Walk Day Nursery with teenage Joelle Lax 1999-2001. She went on to become one of the youngest managers at WCS after we left LWDN. In 2009 Joelle Lax recognized me at the place I was working because I had not changed many years later. Because it was Joelle Lax who spoke up for me when I was targeted at Fitzrovia Community Nursery by Interim Manager Maria Goncalves. When I raised concerns like I always do I was again experienced the discrimination that ended my career 2003 – 2008 for doing my job. I was targeted by Area Manager Maria Freeman and this was brought up at the ET. I was sent to Luton Street Community Nursery because JL spoke up for me and I was empowered by the manager. My story is in the Public Domain. Let me end by saying JL experienced discrimination and since retrained as a Driving Instructor. LEYF is operating Modern Slavery thriving in the UK. I sent a report to www.theguardian.com in 2018.

6. Protecting vulnerable targets. MM Updates: The fact that I am in the Public Domain should have been enough for me to be protected, but instead I am a victim of the Judiciary of England and Wales. View my Online Profile and I would like someone to explain why my husband and I have been made victims for the past 7 years. I was in www.icsouthlondon.co.uk because I was defrauded in 2004. Imagine my shock that in 2021 I am the target of the UEL and Bank. I am left without a Bank Account because I refuse to leave Barclays after I was scammed and the http://www.policeconduct.gov.uk was called to evict me. The www.moneyclaim.gov.uk is a platform for scammers as the last time I had a Case Management Order I am still waiting for HMCTS to act. I went to http://communityplaythings.co.uk on training and worked in partnership until 20016 when they refused to adhere to the terms we agreed to hand over my intellectual property and image rights. I was the only LEYF employee shortlisted for the post of Lead Early Years Practitioner in 2011 and the impact on me has impacted my life from I had a meltdown and decided I could not deal with the kind of discrimination that affected my emotional and physical wellbeing. 7. Reducing benefits to terrorists. MM Updates: Without Prejudice I consider Richard Harty to be of questionable character and should be investigated. I believe he panic and acted unprofessionally because of his links to “Men in Childcare”.

Richard is an experienced early years practitioner who has teaching and managerial experience within a variety of early years settings in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. He has also worked as a reviewer for the National Childcare Accreditation Council in Australia. Richard’s first degree was in Psychology (Otago, NZ). He then qualified with a Bachelors of Education and Diploma of Teaching (Otago, NZ). He also holds a MEd in Early Childhood Research (QUT, Australia).

8. Reducing harm. MM Updates:

We work in partnership with a number of NHS, MM Updates: The first nervous breakdown happened when I worked with the NHS after the death of my brother with cancer. Voluntary, MM Updates: I was unable to get volunteering or placement when I was doing the LSA training in 2016 because of blacklisting and networking. During the time I was sent on Medical Suspension I volunteered with www.resourcesforautism.org.uk but they did not live up to their promise after LEYF denied me my rights. Educational, MM Updates: I was accepted at the UEL and went through the procedures until Richard Harty called me on Monday 27/9/2021. This takes me back to the date I resigned with the second nervous breakdown in a toxic workplace. Richard Harty must be investigated for the decisions he took. I was the EYFS Coordinator, SENCO, and Multigenerational Working Approach Facilitator at LEYF. I was endorsed by Dr. Chris Pascal OBE www.crec.co.uk and Professor Tony Bertram – EECERA https://www.eecera.org on LinkedIn after I told them about my plans to study to gain my SEND Teacher qualification on 19/9/2015. I was called to CO where Neil King tried to intimidate me to write a resignation in the presence of Senior HR Dylis Epton on 22/9/2015. He had a printout from my Facebook that he tried to use to pressure me. I was unable to write my name if my life depended on it. The next day I received a LinkedIn request from Ms. Epton. Research. MM Updates: I am a participant in www.acas.org.uk/researchpapers in 2010 Employment. In http://www.radar-cns.org Mental Health. In www.heal-d.co.uk Diabetes.

Organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education, and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs. MM Updates: Mervelee Myers has been pushed to the edge of committing suicide by the Judiciary of England and Wales, the Criminal Justice System, and the Crown Prosecution Service to protect Paedophiles. I created my website http://www.myvision.org.uk and my YouTube in 2012. It was LEYF CEO June O’Sullivan who sent memos for employees to join social media to contribute to her blog in 2012. I joined and add others. I was an influencer, especially with my Homemade BOOKS. June O’Sullivan took one of my Homemade Books on the day Sky News visited Luton Street on 5/9/2011 to build on as a Teaching and Learning Tool. My work can be verified online. I was accepted by www.pembrokehouse.org.uk as a volunteer and featured in https://www.facebook.com/Pembroke…/videos/302334554093821/?. As a result, I worked with www.cardboardcitizens.org.uk and became a member. I was to be a case study of www.parkinsons.org.uk and believe LEYF with friends in high places might influence why I was not contacted after. I am a member of https://www.macmillan.org.uk and started fundraising with www.cruk.org after the death of my brother in 2008. The way I have been treated by some of these organisations is no different from the 2 toxic workplaces that caused the nervous breakdown.

Our activities are wide-ranging and include; working with NHS and Independent partners to provide people with the right care as close to their home as possible, educating and training healthcare staff and students through a range of learning opportunities, providing early-intervention assessment and support to reduce re-offending and the need for hospital care, supporting our local community offering outpatient services and Workbridge vocational opportunities, sharing learning and insights from our Research and Innovation department, and actively campaigning to reduce mental health stigma.

And we are constantly listening and changing to be the mental healthcare charity that people need us to be.

We share our knowledge through conference presentations, academic publications, and publications in professional media. Our extensive academic library is well used by students and other research professionals. MM Updates: As soon as I was offered the position of SENCO by www.smartteachers.co.uk that is when www.gov.uk/dbs decided to put a bar on my DBS. Therefore, the world will know about those involved in the discrimination of Mervelee Myers after the death of my mother.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the next Mindful Music at the TJHC next Monday 16 October which will run every week until Monday 30 October.

1. The session will begin at 3.30pm and finish at 5.00pm but you are welcome to join in at any point of the workshop.
2. The sessions will be led by Becky and Fi from City of London Sinfonia ( CLS) the team regularly led comfortable classical concerts for CLS and deliver workshops on breathing , music and wellbeing sessions in health and community settings.
3. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.
4. We will be meeting in the Ground Reception Area ( or if it’s warm the courtyard foyer) before moving to the Group Rooms which are located on the ground floor on the right-hand side of the entrance to the building, staff will be outside to meet you.
5. For parking, on entry into the centre, you can park in the visitor car park.  Please then put your vehicle registration into the console/tablet located opposite the ground floor security desk.  This will provide 2 hours free parking if actioned within 15 minutes of entering the vehicle entrance.
6. We recommend you bring a bottle of water and there will also be drinking water available in the room.

Dear Ms Mervelee Myers,
Thank you for attending your assessment appointment on14 September at Wytes Dental. Further to your
visit to the surgery I have had an opportunity to study your clinical presentation and x-rays (full mouth x-rays
were taken in May 2023). The following is the summary of the report and proposed treatment plan. Please
find a description of terminology at the end of this letter.
On presentation you had no major complaints and have noticed an improvement in your gum health.
Medically you suffer from high blood pressure and are diabetic. You are not taking your medications for your
blood pressure and are under review with your GP. You have had some recent tests carried out including
an ECG for which you are waiting results. For your diabetes you were previously not taking prescribed
medication as advised by your GP, however, recently you have started taking Metformin and you have had
a blood test to review your blood sugar levels.
A clinical examination at your assessment revealed:

• Clinically sound soft tissues.
• The majority of the gum pockets are 4-5mm.
• There are some localised pockets of 7mm and 9mm affecting LR5.
  There is increased mobility of the following:
• Grade 2 (moderate mobility) – UR2
• Grade 3 (severe mobility) – LR5
  We had an extensive discussion regarding your periodontal condition and I explained that since seeing you
  in 2021 you have had a vast improvement in the periodontal pockets. You are aware of some teeth with a
  poor prognosis including UR6, UL7, LR6 and you are aware that these teeth will likely need extraction in the
  future. For now, you would like to maintain these for as long as possible and you are aware of the risk of
  further pain, infection and bone loss around the adjacent teeth. The LR5 has a hopeless prognosis due to
  severe bone loss and increased mobility, again, you would like to keep this tooth for as long as possible and
  the risks are as above.
  Your oral hygiene is good, however, you mentioned that you are using the electric toothbrush 1-3 times daily
  and interdental TePes most days, but not every day.
  Even though there has been a great improvement in your oral hygiene since you first came to see me, I
  explained that since you are genetically susceptible to gum disease, with other predisposing factors such as
  diabetes, we need to improve your oral hygiene even further if possible. This will include the regular use of
  an electric toothbrush and interdental TePes as discussed. You have shown good technique with the use of
  interdental TePes. I also explained the bidirectional relationship between diabetes and gum disease which
  is why blood sugar levels are so important. I would like you to provide a report of your most recent blood
  tests and send them in if possible.
  I have recommended periodontal surgeries, however, since there needs to be an improvement with your
  blood sugar levels and oral hygiene, I would recommend this to be carried out first and then a reassessment
  in 8 months’ time.
  I would recommend 4 monthly maintenance with the hygienist and I will reassess you in 8 months’ time.
  Alternatively, you may decide:
  Not having any treatment, in which case periodontal disease will continue causing bone and gum breakdown
  which may complicate periodontal treatment and also lead to potential tooth loss. Loss of more bone may
  also make any potential dental implant placement more complex. There is also some evidence that
  periodontal diseases may be associated with systemic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular
  diseases.

  What is periodontal disease?
  Periodontal disease is an inflammation of the gums, which if left untreated, can lead to bone loss around teeth.
  The main cause of periodontal disease is bacterial infection, however the severity and extent of the disease
  depends on patient susceptibility and on various systemic (e.g. genetics, smoking, poor oral hygiene, diabetes
  etc.) or local (e.g. teeth position, presence of plaque retaining restorations etc.) risk factors. Periodontal diseases
  progress at different rates in different individuals according to their susceptibility and their exposure to these
  local and systemic risk factors.
  What is a periodontal pocket?
  You may hear the term ‘periodontal pocket’ being used when discussing your treatment. This describes the gap
  between the gum and underlying bone. In healthy gums there is a small gap between the gum and bone, and
  this is termed a ‘closed pocket’. Since the gap is small, fewer bacteria are able to enter and cause gum disease.
  In areas of active gum disease where there has been some bone loss, the gap between the bone and gum
  increases and this is called an open pocket. More bacteria are able to enter this gap which leads to a higher risk
  of further bone loss. The numbers that you hear during your assessments describes measurements of
  periodontal pockets.
  The aim of gum disease treatment is to reduce open pockets to closed pockets. Although we are unable reestablish the original bone level, by closing periodontal pockets we reduce the risk of more bacteria entering the
  pocket. This reduces the risk of further bone loss around a tooth and therefore reduces the risk of future tooth
  loss.
  How do we close periodontal pockets?
  Initial therapy describes the first stage of treatment of gum disease. This will include oral hygiene instruction in
  order to improve brushing and reduce the level of bacterial infection. This will also include debriding or removing
  bacteria within the open periodontal pockets which you will be unable to reach with normal toothbrushing. This
  will be carried out under a local anaesthetic.
  What is a periodontal surgery?
  Gum disease surgery is treatment for residual open periodontal pockets that have remained after a round of
  initial deep cleaning. Not everyone will require gum surgeries and this will depend on the response to the initial
  cleaning, which in turn is affected by factors such as the initial severity of gum disease. The need for periodontal
  surgeries will be discussed with you at your periodontal reassessment
  Plaque score- the percentage of tooth sites with plaque present. Ideally we would like this <20%
  Bleeding score – the percentage of gum sites which bleed.
  Tooth prognosis: This describes the long-term survival of a tooth and aids in assessing whether a tooth will
  benefit from treatment.
  Mobility: How ‘mobile’ or loose a tooth is. This may occur after losing bone support around a tooth.
  Furcations: The portion of a tooth where it divides into its roots
  REPLACEMENT OF MISSING TEETH:
  Denture: A denture is an appliance which can replace one or more missing teeth and which can be removed
  from the mouth.
  Bridge: A dental bridge is a false tooth suspended by an adjacent tooth/teeth (abutment tooth/teeth). There are
  two types of bridges; a sticky bridge which may be ‘stuck’ using dental adhesive to the inside of neighbouring
  tooth or a conventional bridge where a false tooth is suspended off a crown which is then cemented onto the
  neighbouring tooth. The use of an adjacent tooth as an abutment requires a restorative assessment, as both the
  tooth itself needs to be sound (eg no cavities/decay) as well as its foundations (bone levels)
  Dental implant: A dental implant is a ‘screw’ which is placed into the jaw bone on top of which a crown is placed.
  The placement of dental implants depends on the bone levels. In gum disease patients, bone has been lost
  which means that bone augmentation may need to be carried out prior to dental implant placement. In addition,
  dental implants can only be placed in stable patients. If you are gum disease patient, this needs to be stabilised
  prior to placement of dental implants otherwise there is a higher risk of bone loss around the implant itself.
  Tooth notation
  In this report the teeth are described as follows:
  UR = Upper Right. LR = Lower Right. UL = Upper Left. LL = Lower Left
  The number indicates the tooth in each quadrant beginning from 1 for central incisors (front tooth) to 8 for
  wisdom teeth, e.g the upper right central incisor is UR1 and the lower left permanent first molar i

The main cause of periodontal disease is bacterial infection, however the severity and extent of the disease depends on patient susceptibility and on various systemic (e.g. genetics, smoking, poor oral hygiene, diabetes etc.) or local (e.g. teeth position, presence of plaque retaining restorations etc.) risk factors. Periodontal diseases progress at different rates in different individuals according to their susceptibility and their exposure to these local and systemic risk factors.
What is a periodontal pocket? You may hear the term ‘periodontal pocket’ being used when discussing your treatment. This describes the gap between the gum and underlying bone. In healthy gums there is a small gap between the gum and bone, and this is termed a ‘closed pocket’. Since the gap is small, fewer bacteria are able to enter and cause gum disease.
In areas of active gum disease where there has been some bone loss, the gap between the bone and gum increases and this is called an open pocket. More bacteria are able to enter this gap which leads to a higher risk of further bone loss. The numbers that you hear during your assessments describes measurements of periodontal pockets.
The aim of gum disease treatment is to reduce open pockets to closed pockets. Although we are unable re- establish the original bone level, by closing periodontal pockets we reduce the risk of more bacteria entering the pocket. This reduces the risk of further bone loss around a tooth and therefore reduces the risk of future tooth loss.
How do we close periodontal pockets? Initial therapy describes the first stage of treatment of gum disease. This will include oral hygiene instruction in order to improve brushing and reduce the level of bacterial infection. This will also include debriding or removing bacteria within the open periodontal pockets which you will be unable to reach with normal toothbrushing. This will be carried out under a local anaesthetic.
What is a periodontal surgery?
Gum disease surgery is treatment for residual open periodontal pockets that have remained after a round of initial deep cleaning. Not everyone will require gum surgeries and this will depend on the response to the initial cleaning, which in turn is affected by factors such as the initial severity of gum disease. The need for periodontal surgeries will be discussed with you at your periodontal reassessment
Plaque score- the percentage of tooth sites with plaque present. Ideally we would like this <20%
Bleeding score – the percentage of gum sites which bleed.
Tooth prognosis: This describes the long-term survival of a tooth and aids in assessing whether a tooth will benefit from treatment.
Mobility: How ‘mobile’ or loose a tooth is. This may occur after losing bone support around a tooth.
Furcations: The portion of a tooth where it divides into its roots
REPLACEMENT OF MISSING TEETH:
Denture: A denture is an appliance which can replace one or more missing teeth and which can be removed from the mouth.
Bridge: A dental bridge is a false tooth suspended by an adjacent tooth/teeth (abutment tooth/teeth). There are two types of bridges; a sticky bridge which may be ‘stuck’ using dental adhesive to the inside of neighbouring tooth or a conventional bridge where a false tooth is suspended off a crown which is then cemented onto the neighbouring tooth. The use of an adjacent tooth as an abutment requires a restorative assessment, as both the tooth itself needs to be sound (eg no cavities/decay) as well as its foundations (bone levels)
Dental implant: A dental implant is a ‘screw’ which is placed into the jaw bone on top of which a crown is placed. The placement of dental implants depends on the bone levels. In gum disease patients, bone has been lost which means that bone augmentation may need to be carried out prior to dental implant placement. In addition,
dental implants can only be placed in stable patients. If you are gum disease patient, this needs to be stabilised prior to placement of dental implants otherwise there is a higher risk of bone loss around the implant itself.

In this report the teeth are described as follows:
UR = Upper Right. LR = Lower Right. UL = Upper Left. LL = Lower Left
The number indicates the tooth in each quadrant beginning from 1 for central incisors (front tooth) to 8 for wisdom teeth, e.g the upper right central incisor is UR1 and the lower left permanent first molar is LL6. 1 = Central incisor 2 = Lateral incisor
3 = Canine 4 = First Premolar 5 = Second Premolar 6 = First Molar 7 = Second Molar 8 = Third Molar (wisdom tooth)
