Good afternoon Mervelee,
I hope you’re well and having a good week.
THANK YOUvery muchfor registering as a volunteer at Race for Life, Pretty Muddy and Shine Night Walk 2025 event’s. 🌟
I can see in your notes you have been a participant since 2009, which is amazing! I think you’d be perfect as a course marshal and for the Pretty Muddy events as an obstacle marshal. You would be located at one of our Course Marshal points, cheering and encouraging our participants and helping them to navigate their way around the course. At our Pretty Muddy events, as an Obstacle Marshal you get the opportunity to guide participants as they climb, crawl and slide their way around the Obstacles and help them get as muddy as possible! Does this sound ok to you or did you have another role in mind?
For Shine Night Walk it will work a little different, and we will contact you separately about this event and role through our ShineVolunteering@cancer.org.uk email.
WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
Hopefully you’ll have had an email when you registered letting you know I would be in touch. I’m Lucy the Event Manager for the below highlighted events (Volunteer Manager for Shine Night Walk), so will be your main point of contact for those in particular. I’m also one of your local Volunteer Champions and therefore if you have anything you’d like to discuss, please feel free to reach out.
- London – Regent’s Park Race for Life 10/05/2025
- London – Clapham Race for Life & Pretty Muddy 24/05/2025
- London – Battersea Park Race for Life 04/06/2025
- London – Victoria Park Race for Life 12/07/2025
- London – Hyde Park Race for Life 27/07/2025
- Shine Night Walk London 20/09/2025
WHAT’S NEXT?
You’ll hear from each Event Manager around 4 weeks prior to each event with more information on your role including arrival/departure times and everything you will need to know to be prepared for event day. On the day you will be briefed on arrival, and supported by a great team, so don’t worry if this is your first-time volunteering with us 😊 I promise you will meet lots of lovely people and will be making a huge difference.
A quick note you will also receive regular update emails from our volunteering department, which are sent to all those who’ve signed up to support Race for Life 2025.
Can I bring a friend?
Of course, anyone is welcome, so if you know anyone else that might like to volunteer at Race for Life, please urge them to register online and join our team.
We also value the support of groups such as cadets, running, school groups, work colleagues etc. These groups can volunteer together, as cheering points on the course, on water stations or on the finish line. If you are a member of a group that would like to be involved, please get in touch!
Finally, if you have any questions or concerns about volunteering at Race for Life, please do not hesitate to contact me. I’d also appreciate it if you could let me know as soon as possible if you’re no longer able to volunteer or have any requirements you’d like us to take into account to support your volunteer experience.
A massive thank you for your support, and I look forward to meeting you at Race for Life! 🌟
Best wishes,
Lucy
