Dear Mervelee,

Happy New Year! 2025 marks 10 years of the Patient Involvement Team and we’ll be celebrating this, and the Involvement Networks milestone birthday over the coming months! In the meantime, we wanted to share some highlights from last with you.

This week, we’ve also included a video about the current public consultation the government are running to help shape the NHS 10-year plan. We want to ensure the voices of people affected by cancer are heard through this consultation to help improve cancer care and outcomes for everyone.

Our team, and the work we do, isn’t possible without your help and support. Your input, however small you think it may be, helps to shape our work which will enhance the lives other people affected by cancer in the future. Thanks to the invaluable contributions made last year.

We wish you a prosperous New Year and look forward to working with you throughout 2025.

Best wishes,Jozie on behalf of the Patient Involvement TeamVisit our opportunities page to see the latest ways to get involved
NHS 10-year plan consultation: Have your say to help overcome the challenges in cancer care
The government are currently running a public consultation to help develop a 10-year plan to fix the NHS in England. This is an opportunity to have your say on the future of the NHS and ensure the views of people affected by cancer are heard to help address the challenges we’re facing in cancer care and improve care and outcomes going forward.

Hello, Mervelee!Happy New Year! Is it too late to still say that? I hope not, because it’s too soon for the energy and goals and ambitions of those resolutions to start slipping. One of my resolutions this year is to eat fewer sweets and empty carbs…I need you all to hold me to that! (Please don’t send me any cookies, even though I want them!)And of course, I renewed for another year my ongoing resolution to write at least one poem per month. What were your resolutions for this year, both as a person and as a writer? For your writerly resolutions, we might even share some (anonymously if you’d like) to serve as inspiration for others. And there’s nothing like telling others to help you stick to a goal.  As for Atmosphere resolutions, one of our new year’s goals you’ll be seeing as soon as this month. That’s to provide you with more free tools to help you as a writer. So get ready to see things like an Author Brand Action Planner and a Book Publishing Timeline Calculator. We’ve been working hard on these free tools, and they’ll be coming your way before you know it.In the meantime, stay warm and keep writing!Best,Nick
