I have heard my PNP friends bragging that Westmoreland is PNP country and they own the parish.
I have been giving special focus to Westmoreland. We detect a growing sense of frustration with PNP representation in the parish.
The by-election offers an opportunity for electors to carefully weigh traditional allegiances versus the prospects of progress with change.
In particular, I appeal to the young people of the parish, especially the youth of Central Westmoreland. They are less tied down by tradition and more prospecting of the future. Our youth can be the leaders of the change in their constituencies.
I appeal also to great number of frustrated and “turned-off” voters. Not voting does not change the things you do not like. It is the surest way to maintain the status quo.
The opportunity to change is now.
