I saw this and decided to let it slide but after thinking about it, I need to put the facts out there.
The Blackness road is being renovated under the farm road project that falls directly under RADA, which falls under the portfolio of Agriculture manage by Minister JC Hutchinson. After almost two years of relentless lobbying for both the Prospect and Blackness roads, the latter was selected first with Prospect to come after.
Let me put this into perspective. The MP is in his capacity for over 20 years, the former councillor served for over 9 years and nothing was done to the road and may I add that your party was in power for majority of the time. Why is this the case? I find it rather strange that, the MP would now get this road fix at this time when he knows that I will be getting the credits as this is a Parochial road that automatically falls under my portfolio. It is like a person who had full ownership of a business and made no form of investment in it but decides to start investing after losing half of the business.
The MP is using the opportunity to get some political mileage because the contractor selected is a PNP loyalist. It will be interesting to see how he will proceed when the Prospect road commence. Will he also take the credit as well? That would be a very interesting scenario.
As for the Townhead to Bushmouth and Truro Gate to Red Hills patching project, I am also responsible for its undertaking. The MP once again used the facts that the contractor is one of his loyalist and he was informed because of the fact that it was carried out by NWA and as the MP he is entitled to be informed. I could also speak on the Truro pond matter as well.
As we speak, I am also lobbying for NWA to revisit Townhead to Bushmouth because of damage due to rain. NWA was also instructed to look at Townhead Square to Brown Yard and recently, the Blueairy main road. An estimate should have been done to resurface Brown Yard but due to change of personnel, this was delayed. Proof provided in photo attached.
I would like to use this medium to encourage persons who are only interesting in scoring political points to take a new approach and start thinking community and people’s upliftment first. Let us work hard to ensure that the benefits available are passed on to those who need same. There is time for work and a time for politics, now is the time for work.

My name is Lynne and I have been at Bird in Bush since 2001, taking over as Manager in 2013. We offer a bright and spacious environment which develops children’s confidence and social skills. We have a passionate team who give each child the personalised attention they need, and encourage the children to take an active role in planning activities. We work in partnership with parents and are a much loved part of the community – the building is from the 60s and many of our parents came here themselves! I spoke to my Mama’s sister Ms Connie, the only Survivor in this photo! She was so full of beans, chatting away about life with me! I told her I am writing a tribute to her for all she has done for my Family & Mama in particular! Ms Connie told me “I am so glad when Joyo Mertie Bernard was born…” Being an only Girl & having a brother who was my Mama’s favourite makes it easier to understand where Ms Connie is coming from…? This doesn’t mean Joyo was the favourite, but because she is the 1 who is around Ms Connie 24/7 these days! Our Family go way back & Joy & I share lots in common especially been born a month + apart! Yes I am the elder & Joy has more or less taken on some of the Caring Roles like my Mama in the Community>>> So lets join hands & heart & cherish our Elderly Folks with All they can have, until they are no more!
