Dear Mrs Myers,
I hope that this email finds you well.
I write as a senior cognitive behavioural therapist and team leader at Talking Therapies Southwark (based at the Munro Clinic at Guy’s Hospital). I understand that you expressed some concerns at having received some unsolicited contact from our service yesterday. I have attempted to contact you by telephone to discuss these concerns but without success, hence this email.
If you would like me to contact you by telephone to discuss your concerns could you please respond either to this email address or by contacting our service on 0203 228 2194. I understand that when you were contacted by us yesterday this was not expected and that you were unaware that you had been referred to us. When we receive referrals from third parties we can only assume that these have been completed with the consent of patients, hence our contacting you. I am sorry if this was not the case and for any distress this may have caused.
If you would like to pursue a referral with our service, again, please contact me and I can book you in for an assessment. If I do not hear from you within seven days then I will assume that you do not wish to access our service and I will close your referral.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Jenkin.
Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
North Team Leader.
Talking Therapies Southwark.
Please note we are not a crisis management service and if you have thoughts of harming yourself, feel unsafe and need more urgent help, please go to your local A & E department, contact your GP or call the SLaM 24-hour information line on 0800 731 2864.
