Jeorge Greetings Black Secret Progressives, At the end of October we took take part in Black History Activity Books Expo in Birmingham at the NEC. For us it was a great way to end Black History Month (UK). It was also good to see so many conscious Black businesses and organisations doing their thing and making a difference, the organisers of the Expo really did a fantastic job. For me it was particularly memorable, as I got to meet the Master Teacher of Medu Neter and Martial Arts ( amongst other things ) Baba Mfundishi Jhutyms, author of ‘Spiritual Warriors are Healers’. He was over here in the UK for Black History Month, and was on that day being interviewed on the live stage by UK Regional Leader of the Nation of Islam, Abdul-Hakeem Muhammad. Before he went on stage, I had a chance to meet the man himself and get my old copy of ‘Spiritual Warriors are healers’ signed. He inscribed it with the words “We are the ones we have been waiting for”. Something he’s known for saying, implying that we are the ones in the here and now, in the best position to make a difference in our own lives and for our people collectively. It also implies, that we have everything we need to resolve any issues we may face on an individual bases or collectively. We don’t need to rely on other people or other groups, nor do we have to wait until someone else does something. Action must be taken by us on an individual and collective bases, for us to bring the changes we want, deserve, and will ultimately acquire. What do you think? Are we the ones we have been waiting for? I believe Mfundishi Jhutyms is fundamentally right, we are the ancestors in the here and now, in the right place at the right time, to make the changes for the better that can take place now! This is precisely the philosophy we have employed in creating the Black Secret Education Project. We are making that change right now, because it is needed and because we can and we will bring that change into being. And we invite you to join us at the Black Secret on this journey to bring critical change to the masses, by first learning and studying the real Histories of Black and African peoples in the diaspora and being a part of our growing community. Together we are stronger. Danny and Jeorge at the Expo ( Robin couldn’t be there on the day ) What People Are Saying About The Black Secret If you haven’t joined us yet, this a great time to do so.
