Daily Express Lori Reid – Taurus: Physical tasks and financial affairs come under favourite trends and a real determination to plumb the depths gets the job done brilliantly. Tomorrow is probably a better time to make any fresh moves. Call to hear about that sudden realisation.

I told them I am very astute and I can read people well. This was further reinforced when I attended the Mega Speaker on the 20th February 2017. As a new recruit to JT Foxx Fan Page, I am already benefitting from making that decision to take back control of my life. I am telling you some of them will be in total shock when they realise I am more #Famous than them.

Honestly on reflections lots of what was dished out were down to vagueness the same way some are only #ALLUDING and unable to come up with concrete arguments to support their innuendos.

Now I go put in some time on my #BOOKS! Mek brainwashed people stay there taking their feet tying up their hands and about to pull the self destruct button. So they control them for #21years and getting ready to dump them. As long as they know they have no share in my land that I took out #Loans2Buy, I am more than cool with their decisions!

Cure Parkinson Association.

I was lying in bed listening to BBC Radio 4 Appeal when my attention was drawn to the mention of Parkinson disease. For me the word Parkinson was like a red flag to a raging bull because of the effects the disease had on my Family when I was younger. Therefore Parkinson is embedded in my DNA and although I am better equipped to deal with it now, before it was a nightmare. I listened to every words uttered by Gavin Hastings as he described the signs and symptoms of Parkinson as they resonated with me. I can empathised with Gavin Hasting and his family when he talked movingly about the impact on his family when his wife was diagnosed with the condition at the age of 39 years old.

I know almost everything there is to know about this dreaded Parkinson disease because of my own personal experiences from an early age. My family that is my dad and younger uncle in particular were affected by Parkinson, and this had very devastating effects on their lives and that of the families. Worse was to come for me when I discovered at the age of 20 years that the only reasons I’d underachieved throughout my school life and until the discovery was that I have Parkinson disease. I guess I should have known earlier about the evidence staring me in the face but I didn’t.

Dad took sick and was signed off from work when I was still at Primary School and died when I was 20 years old. I helped mum with his care especially in the last years of his life because I had become a parent and a stay at home mum whilst mum took on dad’s role of main bread winner. Therefore I had all the time in the world to witness and identify the signs and symptoms of Parkinson that were manifested in my daily life. So from an early age I started experiencing some of the ailments that are associated with Parkinson disease. In later life when I realised that depression was closely linked to Parkinson, I could better understand my changing mood swings when Parkinson decided to take a hold on me. Sadly for me if I had all this knowledge that I have now at my disposal my life might have turned out differently?

I grew up being very angry about having the bad luck of the only surviving girl in the family. Only to be struck down with the same afflictions which rendered my dad useless in every sense of the word for many years of his short life. Unlike dad who had his God along with his Christian beliefs to see him through those difficult years in his life. I had no one to turn to with my dilemma, so I became a rebel and blamed dad’s God for failing us. I just could not understand how the God that dad loved, worshipped and dedicated his every existence to could allow dad to suffer the way he did? Although I had the nerves to question God’s handling of the matter, my dad’s faith in his God never faltered. In retrospect I am more than glad that dad was steadfast in his beliefs and I am happy to say I inherited some of his traits that are priceless and make the person I am today.

By this time I have 2 children so have to stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with this business called life of fulfilling my roles and responsibilities as a single mum. So I set about being accountable by making some life changing decisions to benefit my children and myself. I was already prescribed Valium in my teens and I made my own self-diagnosis that I had inherited my dad and uncle’s condition. There was absolutely nothing I could do about it, so had to live the best way I could manage. I knew without a doubt from I was 20 years old that I have PARKINSON DISEASE and I have tried to live my life around the condition ever since.

With knowledge comes wisdom and power and I’ve benefited enormously from the enhanced knowledge over the years as I have studied and being given opportunities to change my life. But surprise of surprises anyone with my condition are opened to DISCRIMINATIONS because of ignorance. I was penalised for becoming an ADVOCATE applying knowledge to identify children and families with diverse and complex needs so they can benefit from early intervention strategies. I am still facing misunderstandings as my deep concerns are misconstrued to show me in a bad light. These days I am using my knowledge, values and beliefs to good effects hoping my forward thinking visions and aspirations will prevent anyone else going through what I went through in my school life and later.

I am striving to stay away from confrontations because I know that lack of knowledge creates ignorance. As I said when I first embarked on studies at Lambeth College and done a placement at Turney Special School – “You cannot tell by looking…” I know exactly what I am talking about on certain matters because I have the experiences to back up my arguments. These days instead of succumbing to the pitfalls associated with conflicts and confrontations, I spend my time writing about my Life Journeys.

I give my dad’s GOD the honour and praises for seeing me through as I struggle, because I am still a sceptic. However I am a more tolerant person and I am glad to say my condition has not deteriorated any further from when I left Jamaica over 21 years ago. I know I have all the signs and symptoms that will never go away, but I am managing. I may have pass on my condition to 1 of my children but I know advancement in science have brought hopes to persons like me who have inherited a condition like Parkinson. I am detailing my life in writings so one day my family will get the chance to see me in a different light and may began to get a clearer picture of who I am and why I did not become the person I expected to?

Barclays FOS Emma Martin-Hamilton https://youtu.be/RQHKwez9Mdk

So https://www.youtu.be/?v=taA14IVIm9g for more Please accept this as Mervelee Myers response to the FOS Report. I must say am dealing with the fact of who I know Mervelee Nembhard-Myers-Tomlinson is and therefore do not want FOS to take offence of any data produce in my response. I hope FOS can understand my frustration that once again my DISABILITIES have been used to make me a VOICELESS VULNERABLE VICTIM of the SYSTEMS that have used my Intellectual Property and Images to discriminate against me.

I am mindful of the fact that FOS is working from the evidence received from Barclays. I have evidence to cohorbarate my arguments that when I was defrauded in 2004 this was no mere coincidence. Barclays is operating a SCAMMING RING inside Tower Bridge Road Branch targeting elderly women. I have spoken to disgruntled customers and have recordings that I have not yet uploaded.

That is the reason Barclays is refusing to produce CCTV evidence. I am grateful for you taking the time to do the Investigating. But once again am the target of corporate organisations using my disabilities against me.

I would therefore, ask that another FOS work with you to get to the bottom of this. Barclays has used their unprofessional conduct using reverse psychology on me. I know Mervelee Myers best and consider myself an expert authority on subjects from #cradle to #grave, based on my personal experiences.

This is the best way to get my thoughts across because of my disabilities I am always getting judged and accused to be a MONSTER I don’t recognise. I have reached the stage when am hating myself along with the SUICIDAL thoughts. This is not the legacy I want to leave for my grandchildren.

Regards

Mervelee Myers.

Councillor Ashter Nembhard 15.08.1956-1994

Mervelee Ratty Nembhard

In recognition of the contributions of the late Ashter Nembhard of Gaga Street, Townhead, Westmoreland to the development of Social Amenities across Townhead and surrounding areas. Ashter was educated at the local Townhead Primary School under the tutorledge of Mrs Ura Welch and all the teachers of that era. After working at the MooYoungs business at Frome he ventured into politics where he was defeated at his first election. However he was elected as a Parish Councillor for the Cornwall Mountain Division on his second attempt.

Ashter wore many hats during his short life on earth. He was News Correspondent, worked with the Social Development Commission promoting Local Youth Clubs activities across the parish of Westmoreland. Most importantly for me he was the originator of Walker Kickstone and Company as he would travel the length and breathe of Jamaica drumming up support for any CAUSES that he believed in.

Some of his greatest achievements are getting piped water and electricity connections into some local areas making life more bearable for the inhabitants of the commuinities. Getting the Rights for People to Settle on Prospect Park, one of the fasting growing Settlement Community in the History of Westmoreland. Ashter was instrumental in seeking and getting Local and International Aids from all corners of the Globe in aid of the many Youth Clubs throughout the length and breathe of Westmoreland. Ashter was one of the most generous person who lived on this EARTH. Hope he finds Joy & Eternal Peace.

Naheel Brown Legister 4 February 2022

The mirror- Your Reflection
I have always heard the sayings ‘everyone is unique’, or another popular one is ‘being unique is what makes you, you’. What does this really mean? I write this paper today in honor of Mervelee “Ratty” Nembhard. The title is “The mirror -Your Reflection” – when you look in the mirror, what do you see? It is your reflection, and you will have your own interpretation of your own “reflection”.
I met Mervelee a few years ago after having heard so much about her. As usual I had no expectations. My situation was complex, as I would have heard the many horror stories of the “in law” and saw the movie “Monster in Law”, and I was dating her son. The lady I met was the total opposite of the of the images portrayed and she was indeed a unique individual. She was beaming and very elated, anxious, and so welcoming. She was arriving in Jamaica to see her mom and attend her last son’s wedding. To enhance the package, she was meeting her four-year-old grandson for the first time. The days passed and it was a good trip from my perspective. I am urged to say through my lens because again I refer to the mirror ,my mirror. When I look at the photographs, what do I see? I see fun, and happy memories but then, that’s just me.
Mervelee is a very kind individual, with a very strong personality. She has her own unique ways of handling situations and is often misunderstood. This is because we live in a society that has established norms which dictates boundaries of accepted behaviours. Unfortunately, if you do not fall in these norms, you may be exposed to acts of discrimination. This is attributed to the fact that persons do not wish to accept the differences of individuals, but instead expect the behaviours displayed by everyone to be replicas of established protocols. It is imperative that I ask at this point- who dictates the way one should act and why? Who says your way of behaving is the right way? Is your way the only way? Well Ratty will be the first to tell you that her way may not be the accepted nor expected way, but that’s her way and that’s fine. It may or may not bring her the desired results, and sometimes may even come with consequences which may have to be handled through different mediums, but it is her mirror for her to see her reflection. There are always different approaches, and some may be more acceptable than others, but who are we to dictate if the action is right or wrong? Sometimes the best approach is to help the individual to look in the mirror and see the reflection from different perspectives.
Mervelee Nembhard is a storyteller. With her many stories and experiences, she is quite adept of sharing valuable information with whomever may share her interests. Her love for family, friends, children and her work with children with special educational needs, combined with her being identified as being “different” has made her an advocate for justice. This shows her character traits of being bold and brave as she “tackles the world” to defend her loved ones and the vulnerable. Sometimes I wish she would relax and enjoy life as it comes, but this again is my wish and not hers. Her life is viewed through her lens, and she needs to satisfy her personal desires to achieve personal satisfaction. Who dares to dictate, what an individual should or should not do? Instead let’s use the mirror to guide our approach- let’s look at life from different angles. Let’s see the pictures in different frames and try to understand the concept. Maybe then we can shift the focus from what’s being done wrong or right -to how can we do things differently, so everyone is happy? Everyone’s happiness will have different requirements and will also be achieved at different times, but through it all let us always be respectful of each other (privacy, feelings, individual preferences) and base our actions in the foundation of love.
Always use the mirror and see your reflection. The way you see you in the mirror may be different from the way others see you in the same mirror. This means we think and feel differently about the same thing. It may be presented in the same manner, at the same time, in the same place but we will use our personal lens which may give us different views. It’s ok to not understand the conclusions or actions of others but what’s not ok is to be disappointed in others because they did not share your perspective. I will applaud Ratty for the efforts she has made in identifying that she is responsible for her wellbeing, and the steps she has taken to improve herself. Her ability to identify her weaknesses is outstanding and she continues to work on herself, and is making great progress. She is not afraid to share her weaknesses and speak openly about her vulnerabilities, which when looked at through the lens of others may not be readily accepted nor supported. She continues to strive to achieve her goals despite many obstacles and through her lens -limited support.
Today I write for Mervelee Ratty Nembhard, because she continues to contribute to others for the greater good. I have personally benefitted from her kindness as when corporate entities would not support a dream, my little contribution to society through my PhD studies, “Ratty” was there to sponsor my first-year’s tuition which in her mirror was an investment in her grandkids. I use this medium to express my appreciation and to confirm my commitment to delivering on making a difference and helping others to look through their lens and see the world from different angles.
The mirror will always give you a reflection, what really do you see? Do you see you, or do you see me? Can you identify the differences between you and me? Always remember everyone is unique. Sometimes it’s easier not to try to understand the other person but rather to start accepting their differences and respecting their unique qualities. Being different does not mean I am wrong, and you are right, it simply means you are YOU and I am ME. Mervelee Nembhard you will always be “Ratty”, embrace you.
